John Boyega compares 'Star Wars' sets to Disneyland

27.11.2017 | Actor John Boyega, who will revisit his character of Finn in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi", says walking onto the sets of the upcoming film felt like visiting Disneyland."It's amazing. The fundamental thing is unity on a set like this. It's so massive, so many ideas, so many challenges... It's good to have unity of cast and crew who believe in the same vision of making a great movie and have a great time doing it."That's the fundamental goal, so if something goes wrong, there is a fixation on how to get around the obstacle. And that's something I enjoy on a 'Star Wars' set. When the people are solid, it's smooth," Boyega said in a statement.Asked about walking onto a set like this, he said: "Totally immersed. Like a 12-year-old kid that goes to Disneyland, but Disneyland is on level 10. That's what it's like but then you have to do your job because you are part of it."I've tried to do fan stuff and be an actor in the film. I think I'm doing well so far with the balance, but it's crazy because there is so much going on. There are major sets on this one and practical effects again. They have outdone themselves with the sets they built. It makes me feel like I'm on another planet, which is good."The film also stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o and Andy Serkis."Star Wars: The Last Jedi", written and directed by Rian Johnson, will release on December 15.

    Ayushmann's next titled 'Badhai Ho'

24.11.2017 |Ayushmann Khurrana had a fabulous 2017 with acclaimed films like Bareilly Ki Barfi and Shubh Mangal Savdhan. And while he is filming his upcoming movie Shoot the Piano Player with director Sriram Raghavan, Ayushmann has planned his 2018 as well.In 2018, Ayushmann will be seen in Badhaai Ho that is produced by Junglee Pictures. The shooting of this film will start in New Delhi in January next year.Badhaai Ho is a coming-of-age story. The film follows the impact of a certain news on a family and how the members deal with it in their own way. It will be directed by Amit Sharma, who earlier directed Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Tevar in 2015.Confirming the news, Ayushmann says, “I had a fantastic experience collaborating with Junglee Pictures for Bareilly Ki Barfi and working with them on Badhaai Ho is going to be exciting. The story that Amit tells is typically Indian with dollops of quirky humour. I look forward to a family film that is both innovative and entertaining.”Director Amit has been working on the script for the last two-and-a-half years with his writers Akshat Ghildial and Shantanu Srivastava, since the former came up with a one-line story idea. While he refuses to divulge details for fear of giving away the ‘secret’, he admits that he fell in love with it instantly. “It’s very real and easy to relate to. What is funny for others is a matter of serious concern for the family,” Amit informs, revealing that coincidentally co-producer Priti Shahani had been working on a similar concept but after reading each other’s scripts, they agreed that his was better and decided to collaborate.Amit feels that Ayushmann is a likeable and relatable actor as he has done films on taboo subjects like sperm donation, body-shaming and erectile dysfunction, and he did so convincingly. On the catchy title, he adds that Badhaai Ho was the working title from day one, and while he had intended to change it along the way, he quickly realised that it’s simple, apt, quirky and a part of many people’s everyday lingo. “I hope one day soon people will tell me ‘Badhaai Ho’ too,” he signs off with a laugh.

Firangi: Self respect, dignity more important than success, says Ishita Dutta

22.11.2017 |Ishita Dutta, who will be seen in Firangi, has never faced the casting couch so far in Bollywood, but she says she will never compromise on self respect and dignity to chase success. Often, it surfaces that budding actors feel forced to compromise for survival.Asked about her journey, Ishita said, “I think I am very fortunate to have my sister, who is always there to guide me and my food and lodging has been taken care of. Since my basic need of life is secure, when it comes to working, I never appeared like a desperate struggler who needs the job to run the kitchen. It is unfortunate that in every industry, there are people who take advantage of needy people, but I would like to tell all the budding actors not to be vulnerable and always have a backup plan because rejection in auditions and films is not the end of the world. Self respect and dignity are more important for a woman than success.”She also said it is wrong to blame a victim in a case of molestation and sexual harassment as often women are told they “attract” a certain behaviour. “My lifestyle is not an opportunity for a sick-minded man to harass me. Why does society dictate a girl to live her life with certain norms? I think the perspective should be changed,” Ishita said.As most of the budding actors come to Mumbai at a very young age, even without finishing their education, Ishita believes that is also one of the factors for them to get exploited. “Everything has an age. If I will not finish my basic formal education, where student life is one of the most crucial phases of our childhood to develop our personality, then even with little criticism, youngsters feel heartbroken, and little success goes over the head. Our schooling and education teaches us to handle the situation.”
